Dobrodošlica študentom in zaposlenim pred novim študijskim letom

6. oktobra 2016 smo imeli uvodno srečanje študentov, zaposlenih, pedagoških delavcev, vodstva in predstavnikov ustanovitelja.

dr. Zoran Vaupot, dekan

Welcoming Students and Staff Before the New Academic Year

On October 6, 2016 we organized an introductory meeting of students, staff, teaching staff, board members and representatives of the founder. The meeting was opened by prof. DDr. Anton Stres, rector of the Catholic Institute. The audience was also addressed by Archbishop Msgr. Stanislav Zore.

The keynote address at the meeting was held by doc. dr. Zoran Vaupot, Dean of Faculty of Business Sciences. Among other things, Mr. Vaupot pointed out some of the principles and virtues for which we shall strive.

Dear students of the Faculty of Business Studies,

"It is my pleasure to welcome you in such large numbers. This is a proof to us that we have managed in the last months to use a proper language for the content to attract your attention and trust in our institution. My colleagues and I will try to give you our support in your personal studies here to your final success, which could represent a new stepping stone in your life.

It is still a long way by the time you finish with your studies, of course, but we all are absolutely looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead. I have no doubts that the results will be according to our wishes. Kee in mind the awareness that, as the old saying goes, each journey begins with the first step. A determined step we have made together, so let's continue this way also for the future!"

"Let me wish you a lot of happiness in the new academic year."

With respect,

Dr. Zoran Vaupot, Dean

Restaura: Revitalising Historic Buildings through Public-Private Partnership

RESTAURA is aiming at identifying, testing, evaluating and promoting good practices on public-private partnership (PPP) approaches that revitalise historical cities and buildings. PPP allows to combine the assets and skills of the public and private sector, while protecting heritage resources at the same time. With limited public resources (national and EU funds), the involvement of private financing and expertise through PPP is the only alternative to save and manage the unique built heritage of central Europe. The outputs of the project will be strategies and action plans, tools, pilot actions and workshops for public authorities willing to renovate and bring a new life to abandoned and deteriorated historic buildings with the use of PPP models. RESTAURA brings together 4 countries: Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia and Croatia. In each of these countries a mix of public and private institutions participate (local authorities, research and education institutions, PPP associations and NGOs, development agencies) to jointly develop and implement project's outputs in a topic, that is still very new to EU Member States from central Europe, and transnational exchange of experience is needed.

The project has a great potential for the Archdiocese Ljubljana that is an associate partner of the Faculty of Business Studies in the project.

Abstract of the project:

Sodelavec dr.

Nedavno je dekan fakultete dal izjavo za FDI Magazine o stanju tujih neposrednih naložb v Sloveniji: “For decades now, a big portion of public opinion has been strongly opposing FDI, seeing foreign investments as a threat to Slovenian national interest,” says Mr Vaupot, who adds that, as is the case of other former Eastern bloc countries, this sentiment has been particularly strong when it comes to privatisation. But unlike in other post-communist countries, the controversy over FDI is far from over. “Elsewhere the debate is: how to attract FDI? In Slovenia the debate is still: should we attract FDI at all?” says Mr Vaupot.

Our Colleague Dr. Matjaz Steinbacher in a Commentary for Demokracija: 25 Years Since the Introduction of the Slovenian Tolar

Abstract: October 8, 1991, before a quarter of a century, represents the birth of the Slovenian tolar. It was a day when we replaced the Yugoslav dinar with vouchers, which were introduced shortly before the introduction of Slovenian real money. Slovenia is thus in monetary terms separated from Yugoslavia. This article was subjected to the foundation, which was necessary for its introduction and establish a critical distance to the period of the tolar, which was replaced by 1.1.2007 euros.

The entire comment entitled "25 years since the introduction of the Slovenian tolar" was published in the 40th issue of Demokracija, pp .: 20-21. It is available only in the printed version of Demokracija.
